Dr. Lee's Journey in Teaching and Mentorship
Teaching and mentorship have been long-standing passions of Dr. Lee, originating from his time teaching children at various Korean Christian churches throughout Canada. When Dr. Lee first started his academic studies in dentistry, he sought out professional and personal development through dental mentorship - unfortunately this search for a dental mentor would take over 20 years before finding several dentist mentors who have been integral in guiding and shaping Dr. Lee’s current philosophy of dental care.

Fostering the Next Generation: Dr. Lee's Mentorship Initiatives
To ensure that pre-dental and dental students within his network would benefit from relationship-based mentorship, Dr. Lee has dedicated an extraordinary effort to launch several mentorship initiatives. In conjunction with the University of Ottawa Pre-Dental Club, Dr. Lee has been invited for several guest speaking events and he has hosted several mentorship activities at his dental clinic.

Identifying a Critical Need: Bridging the Experience Gap

The events above allowed Dr. Lee to interact with many high school and university students who were interested in pursuing dentistry as their chosen professional career. Through the many discussions that Dr. Lee had with these students, Dr. Lee quickly realized that students living in the Ottawa area were not able to access the same experience-based opportunities that other Canadian students who lived in cities who had a dental school situated close to them. Many students communicated to Dr. Lee that they strongly desired to participate in hands-on dental experiences - to allow them to personally experience what it was like to DO dentistry rather than just hear or see things about the profession.
